Take one of Sweden’s most noted choreographers and eleven top ranked dancers! Make them meet one of the world’s best loved composers and the Norrland Opera Symphony Orchestra. Hand over the responsibility of set and light design and costumes to the couple behind the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre’s successful productions of “Long Day’s Journey into Night” and “the Seagull”.
This is what happens when Andersson Dance creates TRIPTYCH as choreographer in residence at Norrlandsoperan.

Örjan Andersson has been working with Shostakovich’s string quartets since 2001.The productions have been commissioned by different European dance theatres. Now he sums up his work by combining two pieces into a completely new duet to string quartet number 7.
The three quartets are arranged into a new unity with partly new set and completely new costumes.
The result will be TRIPTYCH. The dancers are from Sweden, Denmark, Norway,
Finland, Israel, Poland, Italy, South Africa and Japan and are all selected specifically for this project. The music is played by the string section of the Norrland Opera orchestra; the Avatar Quartet plays quartet number 7 and 11. The entire string section comes together for the finale, quartet number 8.
